I'm So Sleepy

This week went as planned. Fun sisters visit!! Playing with my niece and nephew. Decent blookwork - thank goodness. And a day's worth of chemo today. Kristin and Dr. Evans were kind enough to shift me a day, so I could enjoy my family for most of the week.

Taylor and William (2 1/2 years old) enjoying the beach!

Hailey (5 1/2 y.o.) laughing it up!

Tried to get a little portrait ... This is Hailey's Zombie look ... then ...

Two seconds later, they were wrestling!

Platelets were good, hCG is still below 2. White and Red blood cell are apparently the correct shades of white and red. We're plugging along! Chris was my Special Friend today because he is off this week. It was fun to have him with me ... although I sleep most of the 7 hours away. I talk in the beginning, start slurring, then I'm out. Today I was talking to Kristin - I felt like we had a lot to catch up on - and my teeth started chattering. (Keep in mind we're in a 93 degree heat wave!) But the drugs make me chatter and I can no longer form normal words. That's when you know it's time to sleep. I was a pretty bad drooler today too! I apologize now to whoever has to use the blanket I used today. Plus, Chris brought me treats: including nubby donuts, Pringles and buttered popcorn. Let's just say the Barcalounger I was in today looks like a toddler had a temper tantrum in it. Very crumby food to eat and I left crumbs!

Between all the kid's hugs and kisses and conversations like this:
 William: Aunt Mimi?
Mer: Yes, William?
William: Guess what?
Mer: What, kid?
William: I love you.)
(You just want to eat them up!!)
it was good food for the soul!

Keeping up with their energy and then adding hours of chemo to the mix has left me quite wiped. But the smiles and the hugs and fun memories and handsome Special Guest make it all worth living for.

Hopefully there are just a few more weeks of treatment! Keeping our fingers crossed.
